The flip-side of this is that the HTML5 version of the upload capability allowed me to upload over 100 items easily for me.

"The programmers at want you to be completely dependent upon and at the mercy of Adobe Corporation; in other words, they want you to use the Flash uploader." Seriously? Personally, I don't believe the programmers thought this way at all. Like Jeff said, it's HTML5, not flash. But I find it interesting that you went there. Very interesting. In my opinion, and in my experience (being on the planet for over 50 years) I find that for the most part, people are much less diabolical in their thinking than you describe. I believe there is a different explanation, something much more like it is easier for to maintain. Something like that. But, I don't immediately look for the negative in things. Call me a Polianna.

"But the incompetent programmers at will probably tell you that the non-FTP methods of uploading are "way kewl" and have lots of nifty blinking lights." WOW. Just WOW. My goodness, but you're angry, aren't you? Using the HTML method, for me, was quick, easy, and it got the job done. I prefer this to using FTP, myself, and trust me, I'm not a twit when it comes to computers or the internet.

"When the programmers at removed the best way of uploading, they didn't make it easier to upload. They made it harder. They probably resented that the best way made their ways seem so clunky by comparison. And they felt that they needed to make it appear that they were earning their paychecks by making some sort of an "improvement"." It is your opinion that FTP is easier to use. It might be, for you. I personally find it offensive that because you prefer to use FTP, you chose to belittle and berate the people who work hard to provide this site for all of us to use.

It also appears to me that you suffer from a lot of internet connection issues. I can say that using Firefox on a basic, but hard-working computer, on a wireless connection, the ability to upload using HTML5 was effortless.

So, I am sorry your experience was a poor one, but being rude and disrespectful to the programmers because of this probably won't bring FTP back.

Would you like it if someone was rude like this to you? How quick would you be to accomodate someone who was this disrespectful to you?

I concur with meatpies. All of my uploads have been accomplished via the blue "Upload" button in the top right corner with no problems at all. I don't know what sort of programming lurks behind the button, but it has always worked.

Complaining and hurling insults does your cause no good.
